nothing, no one can take this from me now

i read what you wrote today. about that adventure we had far from home. as far as i can remember when we were younger, we never had anything like this. i’d say i was young, and too dumb to feel anything like this.

i read your quote from Matty about us going to see them, about appreciating their music, about me flying all the way to see them. i should not let me forget about that. but secretly, i flown all the way to be with you. to experience all that together, awesome!

remember Mike said that he could spot us in the crowd and he can see us looking at each other. for him to say that, just made me melt. as if he can sense our connection. he really did, right?

and Pete just keep saying how fucking awesome it was, and then he gave us the passes. he doesn’t seem to be the kind of person with many words. but he was smiling a lot on stage. that just does it.

i never thought it would be that awesome, i got more than what i wished for. and i remember the others were so happy too (they even told me in person), they had this look on their face that i would always remember.

it was you who told me to listen to those songs from Keasbey Nights. it was you who got me into this. and i’m glad i did (and still so into it).

Greatness

it is so hard to translate this feeling into words. here are some pictures.

Dan Potthast solo. AWESOME! when i grow up, i wanna be like Dan.

then Dan rocked the stage with Japanese version of MU330. also known as CP330.

with Dan Potthast.

with Mike Soprano. and Dan. haha!

with Ume… and Dan. haha!

with Kanasu. so comel..

with Pete McCullough and Matt Stewart. Matt was so cool he came to us and thanked us personally for coming. Pete gave brother and i extra stage passes, so cool. Thanks guys!

with Pam.

the girls. Aya-chan, Kumi (hey, hey kumi!), kanasu, and Pam.

Karaoke Japan with Kumi. hey, hey, you, you!

Karaoke Japan with Streetlight Manifesto and Dan Potthast. crazy, crazy times.

with Mike Brown. very proper, down to earth, the coolest guys ever. on stage and off stage in the real world. all the best to you cool, cool man.

Highlight of the trip:

1. not only able to watch Streetlight Manifesto Live! but to meet, greet, talked, karaoke, party and have a jolly good time with them.

2. not only able to watch Dan Potthast (and CP330) Live! but to meet, greet, talked, karaoke, party and have a jolly good time with him.

3. Japanese Hospitality! thanks guys for having us. Thank you Feel Flip, Frail Head Squeeze, Freekick, Cutie Pi, Dallax and everyone. let’s hang out at Kumi’s house!

4. Malaysian Hospitality! thanks Ah Boon and Tenkang for letting us crash at your place.

5. experience all this with one of the most important someone, my Brother.

yay!

and today i consider myself liberated

Japan requirement: take a picture with a (almost) random cute japanese girl.

by the way. that’s me with Junko, my brother’s band mate. she plays the bass, very cute.

10 things I love about Kansai

1. The airport is empty! and it is an international airport mind you.

2. If you think Japanese are nice, think again. Kansai Jin (Orang Kansai) are the best! the customs officer made a bad joke after searching through my bag for counterfeit mickey mouse stickers. even the police dude was awesome, he said ‘terima kasih’ after inspecting my passport.

3. I went to Kyoto on my own!!!

4. My brother, Hidekazu and Yuko picked me up at Kyoto! that’s awesome, to have not someone but 3 someones to pick me up at the station. meeting point: kyoto tower base. woohoo!

5. A lesson on ‘Japanese culture’ with Hidekazu. hehe…

6. Meeting Tomas Kanolky for the first time in Shiga of all places! he was with Mike Brown when we met by the street to the convenient store. Awesome, awesome guys…

7. Watching bands from Kansai. Live!

8. Making more new friends from Kansai including Pam, Ume, Yamada, Ta-shin, Tac, Shinya. woohoo!

9. Said hi to Dan Potthast (MU330). he was very nice, well spoken and gentlemen like at first. but he kicked ass with his spontaneous acoustic show and his surprise collaboration with Cutie Pi. woohoo, Dan ROCKS!

10. Dan called us his 2 friends from Malaysia. Talked for a while with Mike Brown and Matt Stewart, and then said hi and took a picture with the rest of Streetlight Manifesto. in front of a convenient store of all places!

still can’t believe it. i met, and talked with Tomas Kanolky. and the best part is, i still have 2 more chance to meet them and hang out. woot!
